A mixed development was proposed on the site. However, part of the development is in the floodplain. In consultation with the environment agency it was decided to set the flood defences away from the river frontage and part of the ground flood of one buildinghas been left ‘open’ to the tide. These measures enable flood storage on the redevelopment site to be unchanged form the original site.
