	\|Project summary=Vakkolankoski torrent was restored as a part of the Porvoonjoki River restoration project for migrating fish. The power plant and the dam in the torrent has been obstacle for fish migration to the upstream reaches. The aim of the project was to enable fish migration by constucting the bypass channel to pass the dam. Slight meanders were excavated and stones and gravel were placed to increase the biodiversity of the brook and to create fish habitats. The restoration took place in 2008-2009 and the project was accomplished in co-operation between Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Uusimaa and the municipality of Askola and NGO´s.
